Concrete and lime solutions

Concrete can be prescribed either by properties or by composition. For concrete, the manufacturer is responsible for the delivery of concrete with a predetermined composition by the customer. The properties of the concrete have established the required properties and additional requirements. The manufacturer is responsible for the production of concrete that meets the required properties and additional requirements.

Concrete by properties is defined by:
• Compressive strenght classes
• Impact classes (Impact of the environment on the concrete)
• Max. grain size of the additive material (mineral additives)
• Chloride content (in fresh concrete)
• Consistency
• Density (for lightweight concrete only)

1. Classes of compressive strength according to EN 206-1

Strength of pressure is one of the most important properties of concrete. Based on this, the concrete is classified in classes, eg: C25 / 30. The estimation is made by testing after 30 days of cylinders with a height of 30 cm and a diameter of 15 cm or cubes with a side of 15 cm (sample cubes). According to the national application, the conformity of the concrete classes with the compressive strength is as follows:

2. Environmental impact classes according to EN 206-1

In order to be sufficiently long-lasting, the concrete must be resistant to physical and chemical influences from the environment. Impact classes describe the influence of the surrounding environment on the concrete. Concrete can be exposed to many impacts. They can be classified as a combination of impact classes.

Environmental effects are classified as impact classes in Table 1 of Bulgarian State Standart (BSS) EN206. Here we present an extract from this table:

The letter X, the type of damaging action, and one digit indicating the intensity of the damaging influence are in the designation of the individual classes of impact. For example, XC 3, XD 1, XF 2, XA.

3. Consistency classes according to EN 206-1

Consistency is a measure of the stability of fresh concrete and determines its workability. When the consistency of the fresh concrete is not correct, the concrete in the hardened state has no desired properties - especially the required strength. Consistency is classified into classes by spreading diameter (F1-6), by degree of compaction (C0-3) and by slump (S1-5)

All data on the consistency of the concrete and the ways for its determination are collected in the Bulgarian State Standart (BSS) EN 12350. We present a extract of Table 3 of BSS EN 12350, containing the Concrete slump classes:

The largest application in practice is the Abrams cone method. For defining the consistency of the concrete mixture there are other methods mentioned in BSS EN 206.

4. Water tightness classes

Classes of watertightness are designated "Ww" and a number corresponding to the maximum water pressure in MPa. For solid concrete structures, the classes are: Ww 0.2 / Ww 0.4 / Ww 0.6 / Ww 0.8 / Ww 1.0. *Ww is literal translation from the Bulgarian State Standart

4.Frost-resistance classes

The frost-resistance classes are signified by the letters "Vm" and a number corresponding to the minimum number of freeze-thaw cycles that must withstand the concrete cubes. The frost-resistance classes for thick-structure concrete and dense aggregates are: Vm 50, Vm 75, Vm 100, Vm 150 and Vm 200.

5.Chemical additives for concrete

In our desire to satisfy the needs of our customers and comply with their requirements, we offer chemical additives to the concrete mixes. Chemical additives are water-soluble substances that are added to and blended with the concrete and, by physical and / or chemical action, alter the performance of fresh or consolidated concrete such as, for example, processing, initial firing, hardening or durability. Such are antifreeze, superplasticizing additives, polypropylene fibers and others.

6. Cement-sand solutions and lime solutions

We offer cement-sand solutions in ratio 1: 3 (B10) and ratio 1: 2 (B15) - Dmax = 4 mm and lime solution in ratio 1: 2.

For the convenience of our customers, we packed and stripped lime - finely cleaned in 10kg bags. and lime solutions in bags of 20 kg.
